Scouting provides many opportunities for you to learn new skills and adventures. Troop 251 offers Scouts of all ages a wide variety of activities throughout the year that will challenge your skills, like using wood tools (safely and responsibly), building campfires, signaling using morse or semaphore messages, first aid, stalking wild animals, basic cold weather survival skills, swimming, and knot tieing. Troop 251 focuses on community service, camping, hiking, and canoeing, but we also do things like rock-climbing, going to sporting events and play team laser-tag. Here are just some of the things we've done in the past couple of years:
- Bike Trips to the Fort Custer trails or the Kal-Haven Trail
- Boy Scout Summer Camp at Rota-Kiwan or Camp Gerber
- Annual Blue & Gold Banquet
- Campouts at our Barton Lake Cabin
- Canoe Trips on the Au Sable River, Manistee River, Pere Marquette River, and Portage Creek
- All night Rock climbing at Climb Kalamazoo
- Camporees
- Community Service Projects
- Hiking at Camp Rota-Kiwan, the Allegan State Forest, Grand Mere State Park, Jordan Valley Pathway, and Pokagon State Park
