Welcome to Troop 251 – Vicksburg, Michigan!
Did you know that we are one of the nation's oldest Boy Scout Troops?
Founded in 1917, the Troop is currently chartered by the United Methodist Church of Vicksburg, Michigan and affiliated with the Southwest Michigan Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The goal of the Troop is to provide Vicksburg area boys between the ages of 11 and 18 years of age the opportunity to grow and mature into good citizens, active in the community, while having fun and becoming mentally and physically fit doing things such as hiking, biking, rock climbing, camping, and canoeing.
Troop 251 is run by the Scouts! They plan their yearly calendar and present it to the Troop Committee for review and approval. The scouts elect a Senior Patrol Leader and he, in turn, appoints his Assistant. The Patrols select their own Patrol Leaders and Assistants, and there are jobs for just about every boy.
